What is the Summer Reading Program (SRP)?

The SRP is a program for children of all ages, intended to generate excitement to read over the summer months.  Many programs are offered as learning opportunities and to explore new interests.  All children’s programs are free of charge.  See the calendars below for a complete list of activities:

Kids
(Up to age 12)

Teens
(Ages 12-18 or Grades 7-12)

When is the SRP?

The SRP begins Monday, June 10 and runs through Saturday, August 17, 2013.

Who may participate?

Children of all ages, infants through teens are welcome to participate.  There are three different activity sheets; select the one appropriate for your child.  Activity sheets are at the Library, and may be downloaded from our website:

Toddlers
(Infants to Age 3)

Kids
(Ages 4-12)

Teens
(Ages 12-18 or Grades 7-12)

Is registration required?

Yes, you may register your child anytime during the SRP.  Visit our circulation desk for registration forms.  Many programs will also require registration so we may prepare enough supplies and ensure enough space will be provided.

Are there prizes?

There are!  When an activity sheet is turned in (at the circulation desk), everyone may select a free book as reward!  Children and teens are also eligible to win our weekly backpack raffle.  Every week a backpack will be raffled, filled with goodies like Fightin’ Phils tickets!

One Kindle will be awarded at the end of the SRP.  Ages 4-18 will be eligible.  The winner will be selected at random.

Have a wonderful summer, and happy reading!
