Money Smart Week (April 5-12, 2014) is a public awareness campaign designed to help consumers better manage their personal finances. It stresses the importance of financial literacy, informs consumers about where they can get help, and provides free educational seminars and activities.

"Preventing Cybercrime"

Join Corporal Paul M. Smith of the Computer Crime Unit of the Pennsylvania State Police to educate yourself on preventing cybercrime. Cybercrime in all of its many forms (e.g., online identity theft, financial fraud, stalking, bullying, hacking, e-mail spoofing, information piracy and forgery, intellectual property crime, and more) can, at best, wreck havoc in victims' lives through major inconvenience and annoyance.

Topics will include:

1.  Tips to help prevent you from becoming a victim of an Internet fraud scheme

2.  Protecting your personal information

3.  ID theft and fraud, passwords and securing your account, social networks, online shopping, online investing

4.  Resources to consult and/or complaints regarding cybercrime
