Do you fly fish? Have you ever wanted to learn how to tie your own flies or are you just curious about the process? As winter approaches, it’s time to find a new hobby, and this is the hobby for you! This 4-week fly tying class will gave participants an introduction and basic understanding of the hobby. We will cover terminology, tools and the various kinds of flies used for trout and bass fishing. Four or five flies will be tied each session, and students will be given enough take-home material each week to practice tying between classes.

Students will need to bring some basic tools to the class. Tying tools do not need to be expensive. A used or cheap $10 vise will work just fine. Tools include: Tying Vise, Thread Bobbin, Bobbin threader, Bodkin with half hitch tool, Scissors, and Hackle Pliers.
