Using the library catalog
In 2005, the Wyomissing
Public Library adopted a state-of-the-art circulation
system called "Millennium." With this new system,
you can now search our library catalog, reserve items,
renew items, and view items
checked out to your account. These features
can be utilized from any computer with Internet access,
at any time day or night.
Note: You may find it easier to
use this guide if you print
this page before starting.
Viewing
the Library's Online Catalog
• Go to our library
Web site ( http://www.wyopublib.org ) and click the "Catalog" button
at the upper-right corner of the screen. This will
take you to the basic
search menu:

• By clicking on the down
arrow next to "Keyword" you will be able to search by
entering keywords, titles, authors, subjects and more.
After you enter your search terms, click on "Go"
to see your search results.
• When you get your search
results, click on the title of the item you are
interested in. This will show you the item's call
number, and also tell you if the book is checked out or
not.
Logging Into Your Account
• Go to
the starting search page of the library catalog.
(If you
are already searching the catalog, click the
"Start Over" button at the bottom of
the page.)
• To log into your account,
click "My Millennium":

• This will take you to the
log in screen. You will need to enter your name,
your library card number, and a PIN (personal
identification number).
• Click "Submit."
If you are logging in for the first time, you will be
asked to confirm the PIN you selected.
Viewing Your Account and
Renewing Items
• Once you are logged
in, click "Checked Out
Items." You will see a list of items you have out, the due date(s), and
whether anyone else has requested the item.
• To renew
an item, select the box next to the title and press
"Renew Selected Items." If you are able to renew, the new due
date will appear.
• When logged into "My
Millennium" you can also view any late fees on your
account, search the catalog, modify your PIN, and view
your recent check-out history.
Reserving items
• Suppose the item you
want is checked out -- you can reserve it, and when
the item comes in, the library will call you to let you
know it is available for pickup. (Some items may
have other patrons already on the hold list. This
could delay the time it takes you to get the item.)
• To reserve a book, click on the "Request" button
in the lower area of the
screen. You then will be asked to enter your patron information.
Type in your name, library barcode number, and PIN.
If you do not have a PIN yet, just enter a four-digit
number; this will be your PIN in the future. After
you click "Submit" you will be asked to verify your PIN
selection.
• Once you enter your name,
library barcode number, and PIN you will be asked to
verify your item request. Simply click "Request
Renewed Item" and you will be placed on the hold list
for that item.
Our staff will be happy to
assist if you have any questions or need help.
